Comments:
Was a Maori interpreter in Taranaki during the Maori Wars. He died tragically as part of that conflict leaving a wife and 5 small children, (oldest born 1856 - so he was in NZ then) His brother Edward petitioned the Government for compensation for this family, Charles is buried in Patea cemetery.
