Note 1: This is the only record of marriage I could find for a Jean Gatherer but it does not mean that it is correct as not all marriage records are available. But is is quite possible that this is correct since john Gatherer is already in Aberdeen City. This John Smith could also be related to his Grandmother who is also a Smith and may have originated in Elgin himself. There appears to be a general migration out of Moray at the time (reasons still to be investigated).
Note 2: Living at 10 Batchen street, Elgin. Buried in the Cathedral Churchyard, Elgin
