Comments:
It looks like by 1901 Samuel had already left Letitia who was living with her children. 1911 census also shows that Samuel was missing from the household.

A Petition filed in Family Court in 1897 by Frederick Kidgel for a divorce with his wife Lucy Kidgel (nee West) I which Samuel Grantham Baker (the co-respondent 1) is accused of having an adulteress affair with his wife. (Divorce Court File Number: 19781)
