Note 1: George Smith officer and Margt Smith his Spous had a child bap. Called Jean. Wm Gordon, Robt Wilson, Alexr McKenzie, Robert Smith, Thomas Collie, John Smith, Alexr Ross, Wm McRob, Jean Dunbar, Jean Thomson
Wits.
Note 2: Not quite sure that Alex. is the correct father of Alex (1761-1817). Going by experience of parents naming their first borns after themselves or their parents, it seems that Alexander is correct. Jean, John and Elspeth all follow the tradition of being named after their grandparents, except Isabel. A search on Isable (Isobel) did not show any records with a child called Alexander in areas in or near Elgin. But this still does not mean that this record is correct.
